This animation was my entry for #FramesofFear2019, a yearly spooky-themed collaborative animation. This year, we had to make a monster who will be part of the Monster-Mash. But,I decided to make these kids who are obsessed with monsters trying to prove their existence.
A couple of months ago (September 2019), I was in Vancouver and I saw these Totems at Stanley Park. I thought it could be fun trying to carve this character in C4D. I wanted to represent the four elements, but then, Frames of Fear appeared and the totem became just a shell for these sneaky boys.
The most effective way to get this carved surface was by modeling all the elements that each part would have, then render it flat and apply it as a texture on the final pieces.
